Melania Trump shock: FLOTUS reportedly snubs Michelle Obama on social media

White House/Wikimedia Commons

United States First Lady Melania Trump and her predecessor Michelle Obama are obviously on opposite ends and the public knows it. Recently, it was reported just how different they are especially on social media.

United States President Donald Trump was sworn into office in 2017, and once he is in office, Melania would take over the official FLOTUS Twitter account. Melania’s first tweet was thanking her supporters and looking forward to keeping in touch with the public and especially acknowledging Michelle’s work as First Lady before her. However, eagle-eyed people on the internet noticed something about her tweet. It was that the current FLOTUS account does not follow Michelle’s twitter account. Instead, the people that were on the First Lady’s follow list were Donald, Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence, former President Barack Obama, the White House, and White House History.

On Michelle’s end, she does follow Melania but not Donald. She also follows Donald’s democratic rival for this year’s upcoming elections, former Vice President Joe Biden. Before Michelle stepped down from being First Lady in 2016, the FLOTUS Twitter account had over six million followers, a number that has increased since then when Melania took over, reaching up to 13 million.

But Michelle’s own Twitter account received even more followers when she left the White House as well. Before stepping down, she had over five million followers and now has 14.2 million followers, over a million more than the FLOTUS account. Melania’s personal Twitter account, on the other hand, has not been used since January 2018 with only 1.1 million followers.

Meanwhile, the current First Lady is known for being a private person, and she still maintains her privacy even upon entering the White House. A recent report reveals a little more about her, in particular, what she was doing at the time before she met Donald.

The future-First Lady was working as a model and has been modeling commercially when she was only 16 years old. She was signed to an agency two years after being spotted in Milan and often did modeling for Milan and Paris before flying to New York City. She continued her modeling career in New York and kept modeling even after she met Donald back in 1998.
