Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton recently attended the same event. While they did not actually bump into each other, the possibility of it happening reportedly caused the Pistol Annies singer to be quite upset.
The filming for the 50th Anniversary of the Elvis Comeback Special was at the Universal Studios earlier this month where Shelton and Lambert’s band were commissioned to perform. This is not the first time the exes attended the same event since they got divorced. But for some reasons, a source of Life & Style claimed it upset Lambert.
An insider for the publication said, “To Miranda, that’s enemy territory. She was visibly upset about having to perform on ‘The Voice’ stage.” The same source added Miranda Lambert was adamant not to be on the same filming date as Blake Shelton, which obviously worked out against her favor.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly noted that Shelton’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, was also at the filmed event to support the country music star. The report cited a source who claimed Lambert and Shelton almost failed to avoid each other that day.
Speaking about awkward run-ins, Shelton previously addressed the topic of seeing Lambert at the same event after their split. After all, it is impossible for them to actually avoid being in the same building considering they are both big country music stars.
In September 2015, Blake Shelton referred to then approaching Country Music Awards as an “awkward” moment. “It's such a family. Everybody there is friends. There's gotta be one about me and Miranda,” Miranda Lambert’s ex said in “Late Night With Seth Meyers” (via Toronto.com). “Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!' You have to address the elephant in the room.”
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton confirmed they were getting divorced in 2015. A few months later, the “The Voice” coach confirmed that their divorce was finalized within 9 or 10 days. Shelton told CNN that having a prenuptial agreement and no kids made the process easy while they decided to stay “cool” about it.
