‘NCIS’ Season 16 Episode 5 Air Date, Spoilers: What to Expect from ‘Fragments’

“NCIS” Season 16 Episode 5 is not scheduled to air until Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. on the CBS Television Network, but it looks like it’s going to be another drama-filled episode to look forward to.

According to the official synopsis, the NCIS team is going to work to exonerate a former marine who had been serving a life sentence for a murder that took place a long time ago. Played by veteran actor Charlie Robinson, marine Ray Jennings has been behind bars for decades now, but a 50-year-old tape recording of the victim was found recently and it could prove his innocence.

Titled “Fragments,” “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 5 will touch on the controversial issue of sending a person to jail for a crime he did not commit.

“Can you imagine what that is like, and how it must feel for a man like that? Can you also imagine what he would do on the outside?” the team at CarterMatt noted.

“One of the things that is often forgot about in the midst of all the headlines that are out there in this world is what happens to some of these men and women after exoneration, as they live in a world where their reputation and lives are forever changed, at times due to factors that are dramatically beyond their control.”

While waiting for “NCIS” season 16 Episode, viewers can catch the third episode of season 16 on Oct. 9. Titled “Boom,” the episode will feature the NCIS team investigating an explosion near the house of a Navy SEAL and his reality TV star wife. Meanwhile, Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) continues to recuperate for the injuries he sustained when he was held hostage.

Aside from Carroll, “NCIS” also stars Mark Harmon as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Emily Wickersham as Ellie Bishop, Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Maria Bello as Jack Sloane, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines, and David McCallum as Dr. Ducky Mallard.
