NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2016 -- National Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ:NHLD) ("National Holdings" or the "Company"), a full-service investment banking and asset management firm, today announced that the Company’s healthcare related investment banking and research businesses will operate under the name OPN Capital Market.
Robert B. Fagenson, the Company’s Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, “The rebranding of our healthcare related businesses is the first step on our journey to further develop our capabilities in the capital markets space. Our plan is to expand on the Company’s biotech and life science investment banking business and turn it into a leader in the field, while also identifying important additional verticals to broaden our product offerings for our clientele.”
In addition, OPN Capital Markets announced the hiring of Jonathan Aschoff, Ph.D. as a Managing Director and Senior Biotechnology Analyst. Previously, Dr. Aschoff was a Managing Director and Senior Biotechnology Analyst at Brean Capital, LLC from 2003 to 2016. Prior to Brean, Dr. Aschoff held positions as a senior biotechnology analyst at Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co., Inc., senior analyst at what is now RBC Dain Rauscher, Inc. and also served as an analyst at Sturza Institutional Research. Prior to beginning his career on Wall Street, Dr. Aschoff earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Microbiology as well as his B.S. in Biology at Tufts University.
