'One Piece' Chapter 917 Release Date, Spoilers: Will Hawkins and Law Join the Fight?

Image via Viz Media

“One Piece” chapter 917 has a tough act to follow after Luffy shows Urashima who is boss when the arrogant Sumo wrestler threatens to beat O-Kiku for rejecting his advances and cutting off his top knot in chapter 916.

But the previous chapter's cliffhanger looks to be setting up a royal rumble between Hawkins, Holdem, and Luffy's Wano gang, with Law and his crew entering the picture as a wild card. All this while O-Tama is in immediate danger, hanging from the lion head on Holdem's belt.

While Hawkins and Law may eventually join the fight between Luffy and Holdem, according to spoilers on Reddit, fans shouldn't expect this in “One Piece” chapter 917 yet. The chapter will most likely contain the proper introduction for Holdem, where O-Kiku warns Luffy about being an enforcer of a man named Jack, whom it turns out Luffy is not afraid of.

According to the spoilers, Luffy will be focusing on rescuing O-Tama first from Holdem's lion head, before proceeding to continue the battle with Jack's enforcer. Zoro is not without a role in “One Piece” chapter 917 as he will be focusing on getting the food gathered from a farm to be introduced in the chapter to O-Tsuru's shop with O-Kiku.

The spoilers do mention Hawkins entering the town and running across Law, but the pirate from North Blue will not recognize Law due to a straw hat obscuring his face. Law's hesitance to engage in combat may be related to some of his crew getting food poisoning from eating fish from the river. This is the definite indicator that fans won't be seeing Hawkins and Law in combat yet for “One Piece” chapter 917.

With only Luffy in combat with Holdem, fans may still see a royal rumble among the incoming forces in future chapters after “One Piece” chapter 917. Fans looking forward to seeing the action in “One Piece” chapter 917 can look forward to its release on Sept. 17.
