The new cast members of “Outlander” season 4 are a mix of adorable and new level of viciousness. Obviously, the Northern Inuit dog taking the role of Rollo makes up for the adorable part while Ed Speleers’ Stephen Bonnet will certainly take credit for most of the bad things to happen in season 6.
On Tuesday, Entertainment Weekly shared the very first photos of Rollo, who will be joining “Outlander” season 4. Rollo is also a notable part of Diana Gabaldon’s book series and was described as a wolf hybrid. He later became a trusted member of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) family. Fans expect the same in “Outlander” season 4.

The “Outlander” season 4 production has two Northern Inuits that will take turns as Rollo. The appearance of Rollo was confirmed back when season 3 was still in production. They needed to find puppies that early so they could be trained and be ready for some camera action when “Outlander” season 4 filming started earlier this year.
Just like in the teaser photos released this week, fans will be seeing Rollo with the young Ian (John Bell) most of the time in “Outlander” season 4. Gabaldon said in an earlier interview, “Rollo and Young Ian met on the docks in North Carolina, when Young Ian won the dog in a card game, and a life-long bond was formed between them, meaning that Rollo became a member of the ever-growing Fraser family.”
Meanwhile, fans must also get ready to meet another new character in “Outlander” season 4, Stephen Bonnet. This one will be causing a lot of trouble for the protagonists. Bonnet will be replacing Randall and will be the main villain in “Outlander” season 4.
Bonnet is a smuggler and a captain who would not mind killing people. The character was also first introduced in the 1996 book “Drums of Autumn,” which is the main material for “Outlander” season 4. Fans may have also caught a glimpse of him in the first official trailer of “Outlander” season 4.
For a short preview of Bonnet’s capacities as a villain, fans may draw some instances from the books. For one, Bonnet ordered that anyone boarding his ship showing symptoms of smallpox should be thrown out to the ocean, which included an infant.
Later in “Drums of Autumn,” Brianna (Sophie Skelton) saw Bonnet wearing Claire’s wedding ring. Unfortunately, their encounter led to him raping Jamie and Claire’s daughter. It is unclear, though, how much of the book will be adapted into “Outlander” season 4, which is set to air sometime in November.
