'Outlander' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers: Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's Characters to Face More Challenges in America

Ronald D. Moore, executive producer of the STARZ period piece "Outlander" has hinted that "Outlander" Season 4 will be more focused on James and Claire Fraser, the characters played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe respectively, in their efforts to secure a more settled home for the two.

While settling down may not be the most exciting topic for a much-beloved series based on a lady's adventure as she is thrown into the past, being stranded in Georgia means a whole new frontier with challenges that the Frasers have to surmount. For Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's characters, James and Claire Fraser may finally get their moments together managing a home and dealing with the locals rather than being torn apart by the circumstances they usually find themselves in.

Even though the Frasers have been thrown into a faraway land, there is a possibility that Jocasta, Jamie's aunt to be portrayed by Maria Doyle Kennedy, will appear in season 4 to make the Frasers' lives more complicated even when they have already found themselves in the new world. Jocasta's involvement in “Outlander” Season 4 has already been confirmed by Maril Davis since 2017 and looks to be an exciting development in the series's journey from Scotland, France, and finally to the New World.

In the same report by Entertainment Weekly, Moore expressed his desire to have “Outlander” season 4 air by the fall of 2018. This would mirror season 3's release date, which premiered in September 2017. With “Outlander” season 4 just wrapping up recently its production, a fall finish for its post-production activities is more than likely, barring any significant incidents that would cause delay.

The production wrap-up was heartily announced by both of the show's stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe over at the Outlander official Twitter page last July 5.
