It’s safe to say that after two seasons of dealing with Mexican drug cartels, the Byrdes is no longer a normal family. At the end of season two, for example, Marty (Jason Bateman) opened a floating casino in order to better facilitate his money laundering activities. However, “Ozark Season 3” could most heavily emphasize Wendy (Laura Linney) spiraling ever deeper into her lust for power and eventually betray her husband.
As RadioTimes reports, one of the most surprising things about the second season of the crime thriller was Wendy taking to her new, crime-filled life with shocking gusto. She even set up a direct line of communication with the cartel via Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer). The Byrde matriarch is scheming up things behind her husband’s back and it is expected to make “Ozark Season 3” darker than ever.
This competition for control between husband and wife has the potential to result in earthshattering developments in “Ozark Season 3.” After all, who could have expected someone like Wendy to be such a natural player on the darker side of society? The family might have simply been forced into this life, at first, but they are clearly taking to it as a shark takes to water.
On that note, the Byrdes will have trouble coming their way in “Ozark Season 3” in the form of federal agents looking into the death of a police officer in the previous season. Authorities of the non-local variety can only pose trouble for the burgeoning crime family and it wasn’t even them who caused it.
In any case, it’s clear that “Ozark Season 3” will be a much more interesting episode in concept than the previous ones. If the folks behind the series do their jobs right, this season could lead to one of the most spectacular spouse betrayals in TV history.
