The favorite adult animation is on its way and fans are hoping “Rick and Morty” season 5 would be released soon. It seems that their wish will come true because showrunners Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon recently revealed that they did not stop working despite the lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The pair shared that the two of them and the rest of the production team are currently working remotely. They have set up their workspaces at home to finish “Rick and Morty” season 5.

The fifth season is not delayed

They said that with their continuous work and steady progress, they are actually on time even if fans think that they are already late and taking a long time to release the next batch of episodes. This means that “Rick and Morty” season 5 is not delayed and will be on broadcast as scheduled.

In June, Harmon shared that they have started working on the fifth season of “Rick and Morty” as soon as they finished the season 4. They received advance orders for at least six more seasons when the fourth installment was renewed by Adult Swim.

“We had already finished season 4 and the writers are working on season 5 in two-hour blocks through Zoom,” the co-showrunner shared to The Wrap. “There are a lot of things that are better about a Zoom writers’ room, and they are balanced out by things that are worse.”

Production team working on season 6

It turned out that the people behind “Rick and Morty” are also working for season 6 already. The advance works will surely make fans happy because this means that there will be no more long waiting time in between the seasons.

In Dan Harmon’s latest update about the progress of their work, he said that they have completed writing for “Rick and Morty” season 5 and actual production is ongoing. As per Entertainment Weekly, Harmon also shared that he is considering a crossover episode with “BoJack Horseman.”

The fifth season is indeed arriving soon as Adult Swim already dropped the show’s first teaser. It featured the animation in rough draft format and the colored ones are expected to be released any time now. Finally, this “Rick and Morty” season 5 teaser also revealed the mad scientist’s mortal enemy.
