Chris Brown recently made quite a stir among social media users when he commented a flushed emoji on the scorching photo of Rihanna. The images were to promote the “Umbrella” singer’s Fenty X Savage lingerie line, CNN reported.
Although Rihanna didn’t respond to Chris Brown’s comments, her fans were quick to flame the “With You” singer. The reason for the verbal attacks was due to Brown beating up Rihanna in 2009 when the two were still a couple.
Following the incident, Chris Brown was sentenced to a measly five years’ probation and a mere 180 days of community service. A lot of stars came to the defense of Rihanna after the news broke out, including Brown’s mentor, Jay-Z.
In an attempt to display his disgust with Chris Brown, Jay-Z refused to clap during Brown’s 2011 performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Rihanna commented on the matter saying that Jay-Z is “very protective” of her and said that the rapper always has her “best interest in mind.
Jay-Z was the one who discovered Rihanna and gave Chris Brown his shot so it’s understandable that he’s upset that the latter assaulted the former. The mentor and apprentice seem to have moved on from the incident as Chris Brown was among the performers during Jay-Z’s Tidal x Brooklyn concert last year.
Meanwhile, Rihanna appears to have responded to Chris Brown’s comments on her photo as she posted a Bible verse on her Instagram story. The “Diamonds” singer didn’t exactly drop names when she shared the quotes but it that would seem that the message was directed at her ex.
“This is the ground I have gained, and I am not giving it up, devil. You are not driving me back into the hole that God pulled me out of. I am going to stand strong in the power of God until he delivers me,” one of Rihanna’s shared verse read. Chris Brown, on the other hand, has not posted anything related to the said quote.
