Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are creating waves of headlines again given that the 10th anniversary of the first “Twilight” film is nearing its date. As such, publications and fans of the franchise alike are wondering whether a fourth film is currently in development.
Unfortunately, there is no legitimate news out there confirming that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are reprising their roles anytime soon. When both stars were asked whether or not they’re keen on playing Edward and Bella, they gave varying replies.
"Yes, absolutely. Honestly, start sending scripts my way. Let's start building this,” Kristen Stewart recently said with a hint of sarcasm. The “Panic Room” actress added that she was surprised a decade already passed since the first movie hit the theaters, a remark that is quite in line with her vampire character. Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson said that he’s also willing to reprise his role as Edward and was equally surprised that 10 years has already passed since his first involvement with the franchise.
Although the “Twilight” films propelled Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to stardom following the success of the movies, they weren’t actually well-received by fans on day one. When news broke out that the pair was selected as the main stars for the films, fans expressed their disappointment at the decision.
People online said some pretty nasty remarks regarding Robert Pattinson, calling the actor “revolting” and “disgusting,” USA Today reported. Director Catherine Hardwicke said that the comments rattled the “Remember Me” star at first, but was determined to prove his mettle to the naysayers. And this determination paid off when photos of the actor were released online after a few months of working on his form. As for Kristen Stewart, the hate mostly came from her deadpan expression and her habit of biting her lower lip.
Of course, when the first film hit the theaters, all of this hate significantly took a nosedive as the pair’s chemistry was an instant hit among Twihard fans. The movie took Hollywood by surprise as it came out swinging, raking in millions of dollars in profit. Now, the chemistry of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart can be witnessed again by hardcore fans of the franchise as the film will be hitting theaters soon to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
