DENVER, Jan. 09, 2018 -- Video ad serving platform SpotX today announced interoperability with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power server-side insertion for streaming video advertisements with the AWS Elemental MediaTailor service.
Video providers need a scalable and cost-effective means to convert and package streaming video content into various formats and, through the use of advertisements, monetize this content. To maximize returns, they also need to target and tailor advertising for viewers and to measure audience engagement.
AWS Media Services are cloud-based services with pay-as-you-go pricing which provide customers the capability to ingest, process, package, and deliver video content at scale. AWS Elemental MediaTailor is a personalization and monetization service that makes it easy to serve video with targeted ads to end users while maintaining broadcast quality-of-service for multiscreen video applications. AWS Elemental MediaTailor can function as a standalone service or within a larger video workflow that includes other AWS Elemental MediaLive, AWS Elemental MediaConvert and AWS Elemental MediaPackage.
The SpotX cloud-based ad serving platform works with AWS Elemental MediaTailor, providing secure, scalable, reliable solutions for monetization of live and on-demand video workflows for multiscreen applications. SpotX provides ad decisioning capabilities in server-side ad insertion environments, giving video providers the ability to insert high value ads dynamically targeted to users. The resulting advertisements are optimized with video quality on par with the anchor content and are simpler to manage across multi-platform environments.
“As we continue to lead holistic inventory management in the over-the-top video space, our integration with media services from AWS Elemental allows our clients to fully monetize streaming video across platforms,” said Jeremy Straight, SVP, Strategic Partnerships, SpotX. “This interoperability is part of our ongoing commitment to servicing media owners regardless of what’s available within their technology stack and ensuring that our solutions perform seamlessly across different environments.”
