‘The Americans’ Season 5, Episode 6 Spoilers: “Crossbreed”- Gabriel Reveals Philip’s Shocking Past; Oleg, Ruslan Ambush First Suspect

‘The Americans’ season 5’s episode 6, titled “Crossbreed,” will feature Gabriel as he reveals Philip’s shocking past. Meanwhile, Oleg and Ruslan are set to ambush their first suspect.

The lengthy synopsis for episode 6 posted on TV Guide reads, “Gabriel (Frank Langella) stuns Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) with a sudden announcement and a crushing revelation about Philip's past.

Elsehwere: Stan (Noah Emmerich) and Aderholt (Brandon J.  Dirden) draw a fly into their web while Oleg (Costa Ronin) and Ruslan ambush their first suspect.”

In the upcoming episode, Gabriel is set to surprise Philip and Elizabeth with a revelation on Philip’s past. Gabriel is also set to make an equally shocking announcement. Meawhile, Oleg and Ruslan will be on a mission to ambush their very first suspect.

According to the recap of episode 5 posted on Refinery 29, Philip and Elizabeth went on their honey trap missions with Deirdre and Ben, respectively, in Topeka. Oleg, on the other hand, continued his investigation on the corruption in the food supply chain as the CIA dropped their pursuit on him.

Meanwhile, Stan continued to enjoy his new girlfriend Renee’s company despite Philip’s suspicions that she was an undercover KGB agent. When Elizabeth learned of the Centre’s crucial mistake after Ben explained the U.S. government’s development of a pest-resistant strain of wheat in their agriculture program, she relayed this to Philip, who ended up guilty over the murder of an innocent lab employee.

‘The Americans’ season 5’s episode 6, titled “Crossbreed,” is scheduled to be released on FX on April 11, 2017. It was directed by Roxann Dawson and written by Stephen Schiff. It will be followed by episode 7, titled "The Committee on Human Rights," directed by Matthew Rhys and scheduled to be released on April 18.

The American period drama television series created and produced by former CIA officer Joe Weisberg is set in the early 1980s during the Cold War. It follows two Soviet KGB officers posing as a normal married American couple living in the suburbs of Washington D.C.
