It is quite obvious that the wait for “The Blacklist” season 6 will still take several months more. Recently, a report suggested that NBC might release its first official trailer in December if a new season will premiere in January 2019.
“The Blacklist” season 6 will be getting a much later premiere schedule compared to the previous installments. Seasons 1 to 5 were all released within fall and ended in May of the following year.
In a recent report by Cartermatt, it was suggested that “The Blacklist” season 6 could join the list of shows that will premiere during the winter. The same report noted a possible release date sometime in January 2019. If this speculation tallies, NBC could be dropping the first official trailer within December.
“The Blacklist” season 6 picks up from a major cliffhanger and plot twist in season 5. Sutton Ross (Julian Sands) died from teaming up with Liz (Megan Boone) to stage a fake kidnapping. It was all done to force Reddington (James Spader) into revealing whose bones are in the mysterious duffel bag.
However, things did not go as Liz had planned. But it was later revealed that, in all five seasons, the fans have been watching a fake Reddington. Liz is definitely out for blood in “The Blacklist” season 6.
Liz vowed to find out who her real father was and why he was killed. Since the fake Reddington had been in Liz’s life for the past 30 years, flashback scenes are likely featured in The Blacklist” season 6. Liz also vowed that once she finds the truth, she will “destroy” her fake father.
To carry out her mission, Liz will be getting help from her half-sister, Jennifer (Fiona Dourif) in “The Blacklist” season 6. Showrunner Jon Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly following the season 5 finale, “Liz should probably compare stories with her sister Jennifer, who has information. The dynamic of the two of them walking off the episode, when I saw it again in playback, I thought it was super-fun.”
