Looks like filming for “The Curse of Oak Island” Season 6 is still ongoing at Smith's Cove on Oak Island. Local resident Karen Publicover has been keeping fans of the show informed about the progress there on her “Oak Island from the Other Side of the Causeway” Facebook page, and she posted an update recently.
“The crane is still working in the money pit area, the film crew is still there filming daily...the dump trucks, hauling gravel and/or stone are still arriving regularly....there are lots of tourists coming and going. I’m not sure about the cofferdam but I think it is safe to say it is still in place.....overall it appears that nothing changed,” Publicover said in her post.
Well, not much has changed since her last update, but they should wrap things up soon. Publicover will give more updates in the coming weeks, and fans of the show really appreciate what she is doing. “In some weird way, you’re making all of TV better by exposing in real-time that which producers want to hide behind misleading promos aimed at keeping us watching a bunch of literally nothing,” one fan said on her page.
In case some fans haven’t heard yet, Deadline has reported that there are going to be more episodes in “The Curse of Oak Island” Season 6 than in previous seasons, so viewers will see a lot more of Marty and Rick Lagina as they search for treasure. In fact, the upcoming season is said to feature 30 hours of footage. That means there may be 30 episodes this season, although it is possible there may be two-hour specials since History still hasn’t confirmed the final episode count.
“The Curse of Oak Island” Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on the History Channel. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
