‘The Good Doctor’ Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers: Shaun and Morgan in Conflict over a Woman’s Diagnosis in ‘Two-Ply (or Not Two-Ply)’

The Good Doctor

“The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 will be intense as Dr. Morgan (Fiona Gubelmann) and Dr. Shaun (Freddie Highmore) will have a bit of argument over a patient’s condition. The case looks simple but it turns out to be a serious one so the tension in the hospital builds up to a high level.

As shared by Spoilers Guide, “The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 is titled “Two-Ply (or not Two-Ply)” and its synopsis reads: "Morgan and Shaun’s indecision on how to treat a young violinist who visits the ER with an infected finger could affect her future in more ways than one. Lim, Claire and Park can’t figure out if their young patient is really ill or looking for attention.”

What Will Happen in “Two-Ply (or not Two-Ply)?”

As mentioned in the synopsis Morgan and Shaun will have different views on their violinist patient who dropped by San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital’s ER. She has an infected finger that Shaun thinks needed to be cut-off immediately or her life will be in jeopardy.

However, Dr. Morgan does not think it is that severe. She is against the idea of cutting off part of the patient's finger since she is a violinist. The lady doctor argued that doing so would end her career as a musician.

As can be seen in the “The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 trailer, the lady patient tells the doctors that she is a violinist and Dr. Morgan’s diagnosis about her complaint is that she looks like she has tendinitis, an inflammation in tendons. On the other hand, Dr. Shaun said it is more serious than that because he suspects that her finger is infected with “flesh-eating bacteria.”

When Dr. Shaun explains that they have to remove the tip of the infected finger, Dr. Morgan objects, saying it would be a career-ending move. The former states that if they will not do anything or act fast, the patient will likely die.

At the end of the “The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 promo video, it appears that Dr. Shaun is right because the patient later goes into septic shock. Realizing her mistake, Dr. Morgan is shown breaking down probably due to her wrong diagnosis.

Guest stars in “The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 include Sheila Kelley (Debbie Wexler), Teryl Rothery (J.L.) and Supinder Wraich (Jas Kohli). The episode was written by Simran Baidwan and directed by Tara Nicole Weyr.

"The Good Doctor” season 2 episode 6 will air on Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
