“The Walking Dead” season 9 is most likely going to surprise fans with more deaths on the line and some speculations suggest it might include Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton). Meanwhile, the show has also brought in new characters from the original comic book series, including Tammy (Brett Butler).
The biggest departures happening in “The Walking Dead” season 9 are, without a doubt, the ones that involve Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). This bit has been confirmed for several months now. Fans only have to watch out for when and how it happens.
Maggie’s death is less likely happening. New showrunner Angela Kang previously revealed she is hoping to write more about Maggie in installments beyond “The Walking Dead” season 9.
On the other hand, Kang can only promise that they have written Rick’s departure sequence with the utmost respect. But this can still mean that a dignified death is underway for the character in “The Walking Dead” season 9.
After the all-out war against Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) forces, the protagonists are certainly going to face the Whisperers in “The Walking Dead” season 9. The group of new villains has been depicted as nomads who disguise themselves by literally using the flesh of dead bodies. They also have a brutal way of dealing with captured “enemies,” which include decapitations and impaling heads on a spike to mark their territory.
And if some of the series regulars will meet their demise in “The Walking Dead” season 9, the Whisperers are most likely involved. Weighing in on the factors present in the current season, The Hollywood Reporter speculates there is a 95 percent chance Ezekiel will die in the future episodes. If this happens, this could also pave the way for Carol (Melissa McBride) to develop as one of the frontliners in winning the war against the new villains.
Meanwhile, the same scale THR set up presents a 10 percent possibility for Michonne’s departure. While the report says Michonne’s death is “almost certainly” happening, the fans are still expected to see her join the beginnings of the war against the Whisperers in “The Walking Dead” season 9.
As several characters are expected to leave in “The Walking Dead” season 9, new faces will be filling their spots, and one of them is Tammy. Monster and Critics reports that actress Brett Butler signed on to appear in several episodes this season even after Rick's exit.
Before “The Walking Dead” season 9 premiered, the cast and producers talked about how the alliance will deal with several internal conflicts, especially on the matter of establishing their new leaders. Tammy, in the comic book series, is one of the people who do not favor the community's new political and leadership system. In the episodes that already aired, Tammy was initially on the bad side of Maggie.
Observers expect her character to develop throughout the season. But before fans get too attached to Tammy, note that her character soon suffers a gory death in the hands of Whisperers leader Alpha (Samantha Morton). A new episode of “The Walking Dead” season 9 comes out every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
