Nick studied Zoology at Nottingham and completed a PhD in population genetics at Edinburgh. He has worked as a government scientist and statistician, a freelance journalist and university researcher. Nick is now in charge of the Woodland Trust's research and evidence programme, and holds an associate fellowship at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
