Associate Professor, Leadership, Policy & Governance, University of Calgary
I am an interdisciplinary thought leader in Education (Arts) with a PhD in Strategy and Global Management. This means my expertise sits at the intersection of Leadership, Learning, and the Arts, with a unique vantage point for innovative solutions. As an award winning researcher, I design new ways to approach previously unsolvable problems and present regularly to local, national, and international audiences which, to date, include Australia, China, Denmark, England, France, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the USA. This includes statistically significant findings for my framework on engagement through entrepreneurial thinking, ethical mindset, empathy, and social empowerment; and my new approach for capacity building for innovative thinking. My doctoral dissertation used a behavioral economic model to investigate innovation adoption with a focus on organizational resistance to change away from the status quo (in a telework context). Recent collaborations include initiatives with the Rozsa Foundation, the Leadership Institute at Harvard, Stanford's Gardner Centre for Youth and their Communities, and the Royal Conservatory.
