Maria Kyriakidou is a lecturer at the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University. Her research focuses on the relationship among media, globalisation and crises, with a particular interest in the mediation of distant suffering.
She is currently a Co-I on the AHRC-funded project 'Countering disinformation: Enhancing journalistic legitimacy in public service media'.
