Barbara Ivanov

Chief Operating Officer, Supply Chain Transportation and Logistics Center, University of Washington

Barbara Ivanov conducts applied research on:
– Urban goods delivery systems and land use
– Sustainable freight transportation systems
– Performance management of freight networks connecting ports, industrial lands and corridors

Ms. Ivanov has worked with the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2) and the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board (TRB) to develop freight performance metrics and the technical capability to track performance; advanced freight data collection and analytic tools; economic impact analyses; resilient freight systems; and states’ internally and externally coordinated input to the National Freight Network and National Freight Strategic Plan required under the FAST Act.

She holds a MBA from the UW Foster School of Business, is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management, and has a BA in English (cum laude) from the University of Washington. Before joining the SCTL Center she was the director of the Freight Systems Division at the Washington State Department of Transportation.

She is:
