Ben is a PhD researcher in the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds, where the broad focus of his work is on the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and related political, legal, and ethical concerns. His doctoral thesis seeks to explore the occurrence of atrocity crimes and R2P framing specific to the case of North Korea over the last decade. Ben also works as a research assistant for Protection Approaches, a UK-based NGO that focuses on identity-based violence.
