Professorial Reseach Fellow in Food Systems and Health, University of Sheffield
I am an applied economist and work on research areas at the intersection of food, health and environmental sustainability. Much of my work is of an interdisciplinary nature and has a policy focus. I joined the Institute of Sustainable Food and the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield in April 2020. From 2011 to March 2020, I was Professor at SOAS University of London, and have previously also held appointments at the University of Reading and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. My recent work has been funded by the Wellcome Trust, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Leverhulme Trust, GCRF, UKAid and the European Commission, among others. I have served as Managing Editor of Food Policy in the past, am currently an academic editor for PLoS One, review editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Food and serve on the editorial advisory boards of Global Food Security and Food Policy.
