Before joining the faculty in College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity at the University at Albany, I worked for several years at the Disaster Research Center at the University of Delaware. I specialize in quick response field research, and have deployed to several disaster zones, including to New York City after Superstorm Sandy, the Oklahoma City area following the May 2013 tornadoes, and Kathmandu, Nepal after the 2015 earthquake. My research examines issues around humanitarian logistics, donations, humanitarian relief, international response, decision-making, and health and medical issues in disasters and crisis.
