Jo Richardson is Professor of Housing and Social Research and Director of the Centre for Comparative Housing Research at De Montfort University, Leicester. Prior to her academic life she worked in policy and practice at the Chartered Institute of Housing and before that had frontline housing management roles in the local government and housing association sector.
Jo's research focuses on marginalised and excluded communities and housing; she has undertaken a number of projects examining the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers in Britain. Jo has undertaken research funded by the ESRC, AHRC and JRF as well as from public and charitable organisations providing housing and support services.
