Professor Bronwyn Hemsley is a speech pathologist with a clinical and research interest in the use of communication technologies and e-health innovation to improve the care and communication of people with communication disability with their family members and healthcare providers. From 2014-2017 she held a Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) examining the use of Twitter by people with severe communication disability, and presently leads two National Health and Medical Research Council Project Grants on the My Health Record and Keeping People with Communication Disability Safe in Hospital.
