I am a political scientists who studies campaigns and elections and survey methods, including pre-election polling. I am the co-author of The Voter's Guide to Election Polls. I am a Research Professor at the Center for Political Studies at the University of Michigan and a Gallup Senior Scientist.
I have been the president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR). In 2010, I received the AAPOR Award for Lifetime Achievement and in 2018 WAPOR's Helen Dinerman Award for contributions to the field.
