Alya Govorchin is a MSc Candidate and Research Assistant in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Alya has her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (2017) from the University of Victoria. Her research areas include Indigenous health and justice and Canadian mental health and substance use policy. Her research interests are informed by her previous work in public engagement/policy and program delivery, and her experiences as a research assistant in the areas of youth mental health and Indigenous health sovereignty.
