There have been a lot of issues with regards to how Apple has been handling its products that used to be innovative over the past few years. Now, it would seem that in a bid to get ahead of everyone else, the Cupertino firm is reportedly relying on inferior technology for the iPad Pro 2019. Before anyone freaks out, however, it’s worth pointing out that this could be the best option for 5G connectivity.

Some recent rumors have been suggesting that Apple will be using MPI for its iPad Pro 2019 lineup instead of LCP to prepare for 5G integration, Tech Radar reports. In the grand scheme of things, it makes sense for Apple to want to be ahead of the game on the matter of actually preparing for 5G connectivity. However, it is the choice of technology that makes this particular development interesting.

If the rumors prove to be accurate, the Cupertino firm would technically be using less advanced technology in order to grant the iPad Pro 2019 devices the ability to connect with 5G. Of course, it is worth noting that this particular case is a matter of technicality. While the LCP does have better prospects compared to the MPI, currently technology levels simply are not able to tap into its fullest potential.

Until such a time as Apple is able to draw the full greatness of LCP in terms of wireless connectivity, it will need to switch to the less advanced but more reliable MPI. The reports also suggest that the company will be turning back to the better option after the iPad Pro 2019. This might factor into the decisions that the customers will have to make.

For now, it’s worth taking this news with a great of salt. However, if this iPad Pro 2019 report is true, it might be better to simply wait for the next version.
