“Alaskan Bush People” will have a happy comeback as Ami Brown will still be on the reality show when it returns for season 8. As can be seen in the trailer, the 53-year-old matriarch of the Brown Family is saved from stage 4 lung cancer and she said it was all thanks to her family and strong faith in God.
Late last year, it was reported that the “Alaskan Bush People” star was already in her deathbed. They said she was only days away from succumbing to lung cancer, but days passed and she was still fighting.
A few more weeks after that, in January of this year, she was reported to be in remission. As per In Touch Weekly, Ami Brown is not totally cancer-free yet but she has completed her rounds of chemotherapy and it was a successful treatment.
But because cancer has chances of coming back, the “Alaskan Bush People” matriarch continues to visit medical facilities for check-ups. Thus, even if she is in remission, her battle with cancer is ongoing.
It was a good thing that she goes to the doctor regularly because, in May, they found out that her cancer was back. And after two months of another intense treatment, it was declared that she is in remission once again.
Incidentally, when she was diagnosed with the deadly disease last year, Ami Brown remained positive and refused to give up even if her doctors said she had a very slim chance of overcoming her cancer that was already in advance stage. Her fighting spirit surely played a role in beating the odds.
Truly, Ami Brown is so blessed to have been able to win against a deadly disease and it happened twice. She recovered after being threatened two times in her life and that is something to be very thankful for. It was totally a miracle because she was initially given a “less than 3 percent” chance of survival after her diagnosis.
“Ami is doing amazing, and she’s ready to show everyone that miracles do happen,” a source exclusively told Radar Online. “Her doctors are all dumbfounded at how she was able to almost beat this when she was in such a bad state last year.”
Ami Brown will continue to battle the disease and as she gets better, she wants to make the most out of her new life and is looking forward to great days ahead. Her struggles and victories will be shown on TV when “Alaskan Bush People” season 8 premieres on Aug. 19 on Discovery.
