CHICAGO, April 11, 2017 -- Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) announced today that its Community interoperability platform, dbMotion Solution, is now available through the cloud via Microsoft Azure. The cloud-based solution offers the same capabilities as the on-premise version but the subscription model will enable faster implementation of the interoperability service and lower annual upgrade cost helping organizations to leverage the technology with less dependence on internal IT resources. The value extends to population health as well since Allscripts will also offer its Population Health Analytics solution (PHA), powered by dbMotion, via Azure.
The dbMotion Solution harmonizes data from all disparate clinical and financial source systems, to deliver it in a usable way to the point of care in support of clinical decision making and to analytics engines based on organizational needs. The impact of dbMotion has been demonstrated to reduce the cost of care delivery, enables physicians to provide more informed patient care and drives clinical outcomes and improve patient satisfaction and confidence in their care.
The dbMotion Solution is a critical component of Allscripts’ comprehensive, community-connected population health management platform, Allscripts CareInMotion™. CareInMotion is an adaptable architecture that enables healthcare organizations to address their specific population health priorities, such as risk stratification, care coordination, transitions of care and patient engagement.
“Providers desire a platform that enables them to meaningfully integrate and act on their patients’ health information,” said Allscripts Senior Vice President and General Manager of Population Health, Martha Thorne. “By offering access to dbMotion features through the cloud, it will help lower the barrier to entry for health systems and physician groups looking for true interoperability and empower them to make more informed decisions for safer, more efficient care.”
General Manager of Worldwide Health, Microsoft Corp., Neil Jordan said, “We’re delighted to see Allscripts offer a cloud-based platform to enhance provider access to healthcare information. Microsoft Azure provides global scale and enterprise-grade security for Allscripts and its customers, with additional benefits for clinicians gained through the integration with dbMotion. This is such an important part of providing Digital Transformation in the industry, and Allscripts is a leader with the breadth of their population health offerings and the completeness of their vision.”
