NEW YORK, April 15, 2016 -- American Independence Corp. (NASDAQ:AMIC) today announced that it has received a letter from the Listing Qualifications Department of The NASDAQ Stock Market (“Nasdaq”) notifying the Company of its noncompliance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5250(c)(1) because the Company has not yet filed its Form 10-K for the period ended December 31, 2015 (the “Form 10-K”). Nasdaq indicated that the Company has 60 days to submit a plan to regain compliance. If Nasdaq accepts the Company’s plan, it may grant an exception of up to 180 calendar days from the Form 10-K’s due date, or October 11, 2016, to regain compliance.
The Company intends to regain compliance with the NASDAQ’s filing requirements, and will file its Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2015 as soon as practicable.
The Notice does not result in the immediate delisting of the Company’s common stock and the stock will continue to trade uninterrupted under its current trading symbol.
