The new Android Wear update now allows users to control the smartwatch using wrist gestures. According to Android Community, the Android Wear 1.4 update comes in with a new set of wrist gestures that would allow users to execute commands, like swiping the small touchscreen to the left or right at the flick of the wrist, take action on a card, or back to the watch face, for example.
Users who need a tutorial can simply go to Settings> Wrist Gestures> Gesture tutorial to test and practice such moves. It has been noted that the perfect execution of the wrist gestures would be dependent on the speed and direction of the user’s movement.
The tutorial is definitely helpful for some people. Shane McGlaun for Slash Gear wrote, “Using the gestures proves to be a challenge at times as I am sure many have found out. My original Moto 360 never seems to want to respond to wrist gestures.”
At the moment, there is no advice when the Wrist Gestures feature would roll out, except for LG Watch Urbane 2, McGlaun said.
