The temperature in the tablet market rose many degrees as Google introduced Pixel C, a brand new tablet to its Chromebook Pixel product line-up.
The 10.2-inch tablet comes with 2560x1800 pixels resolution (308 ppi). It is equipped with NVIDIA Tegra X1 CPU, NVIDIA Maxwell graphics processor, 3 GB RAM and storage capacity of 32GB and 64GB are available.
CNET reports that the device runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 and features keyboard case that's sold separately. Gadgets NDTV explains that the tablet can be attached to the keyboard magnetically and tilted from 100 degrees to 135 degrees. Also, the tablet connects to the keyboard via Bluetooth.
Moreover, it has type-C reversible USB port, which is also seen on Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. It supports Accelerometer, Compass Voice commands, Voice recording.
It needs to be pointed out at this point that while Nexus devices are built with third-party hardware partners, Pixel devices are built and designed entirely by Google, IBTimes reported.
The 32GB variant is priced at $499 while the 64GB variant is priced at $599. The keyboard accessory comes with a price tag of $149. Although Microsoft Surface Pro (starting at $899) and Apple iPad Pro (at $799 (32 GB)), are highly priced compared to Google Pixel C, the latter offers lesser specifications. Apart from smaller display, the device has no provision for camera.
The release date is not yet known but is likely to be "in time for the holidays".
