Angelina Jolie slammed Brad Pitt after she accused him of not providing enough child support for their six children. The “Maleficent” actress said that her ex-husband has been neglecting his duties and this was what prompted her to file a new complaint in the court.
In the documents filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by NBC News, Angelina Jolie’s camp alleged that Brad Pitt had not paid any “meaningful child support” for the past 18 months, at the height of the couple’s divorce case mess.
Samantha Bley DeJean, Jolie’s new lawyer, further stated, “Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained by Pitt for over a year and a half, Jolie intends to file an RFO for the establishment of a retroactive child support order.”
In a report by People, it is said that Angelina Jolie wants more child support because she reportedly wants to move forward with her divorce from the “Fury” actor so she can dedicate more of her time to their children.
Also, it is said that the publication also spoke with Angelina Jolie’s representative and was told that the goal for the latest court case on child support “is to provide closure to the marriage in a way that clears a path toward the next stage of their lives and allows her and Brad to recommit as devoted co-parents to their children.”
In Brad Pitt's defense against Angelina Jolie’s accusation, a source close to the actor refuted the claims by saying that “Brad has fulfilled his commitments.”
Meanwhile, Page Six reported that other sources called Angelina’s move a publicity stunt. The insider reportedly said that Brad has been fulfilling his commitments to the children and he will continue to do so. He ended his statement by saying that the new claim is nothing but a step to gain attention and influence the ongoing divorce proceedings.
