The making of “Animal Kingdom” season 4 has started last month and recent reports confirmed there is one more exciting addition to the cast. “Bones” alum Emily Deschanel joins the TNT series for a character that is somehow related to Pope (Shawn Hatosy).
Deschanel, who is popularly known as Temperance Brennan from “Bones,” is the newest addition to the cast of “Animal Kingdom” season 4, Deadline first reported. Even though Deschanel is coming in for a recurring role, she will be playing a major role for a running arc that will affect the entire season’s plot.
“Animal Kingdom” season 4 will introduce Deschanel’s Angela who has just got of prison and wants to be part of the Cody family crime business. Though Angela is not related to Codys by blood, she is referred to as the best friend of Pope’s late twin sister.
She is familiar to the Cody family members but some of them do not have a great impression of her. Angela is described as Julia’s former “drug buddy” and is characterized as a “survivor, scrappy, manipulative” individual. It also not surprising if Angela and Pope will be seen in some steamy encounters in “Animal Kingdom” season 4 since before she went to prison, she has been trying to “seduce” the oldest Cody son.
After coming out of prison, Angela wants to be part of the Cody family business. But that would be tricky since J (Finn Cole) is not a big fan of hers while Smurf (Ellen Barkin) does not trust her. How Angela affects the Codys’ operations and dynamic as a family in “Animal Kingdom” season 4 is still a mystery. But given her reputation among the family members, it would not be surprising if she could cause a strain between Pope and the others.
Other details, such as the release date, of “Animal Kingdom” season 4 are still unknown. But many are hoping that the series would be back at its usual schedule for the past couple of years. This means the show might premiere sometime in late May.
