Arab Financial Services (AFS), the provider of electronic payments outsourcing services in the MENA region, announced that it is hosting the first edition of the Middle East & Africa FinTech Forum on March 29 in Bahrain.
According to an Arabic media, Bank ABC and the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) will sponsor the event that will explore latest trends in the fintech ecosystem. The event will also see a discussion on both challenges and potentials in the fintech and will also offer in-depth analysis on how MENA can adapt itself to the changes that drive financial sector.
“FinTech aims to deliver innovative solutions in a rapidly evolving world while disrupting the financial industry. The regional financial sector has developed considerably over the past two decades and with this forum, we are hoping to bring the FinTech ecosystem together, helping connect start-ups, technology companies, investors, financial institutions and regulators to build stronger relationships and create opportunities for everyone,” Sael Al Waary, chairman of AFS, said.
The forum is themed “Fintech Disruption in the Financial Industry” and will be inaugurated by Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain. The event will have series of panel discussions on topics including a cashless economy, regional fintech opportunity, disruptive innovations in fintech, among others.
Participants of the forum include experts in the fintech arena, a wide range of stakeholders including government officials, regulators, leading professionals, among others.
“FinTech is an innovative and fast-growing sector presenting tremendous opportunities. This event will allow us to understand and analyze the FinTech revolution and help us position Bahrain as a leader in the journey towards a digital, cashless economy,” Chandrasekhar, CEO of AFS, stated.
The fintech forum is expected to offer a networking opportunity for industry experts and key stakeholders.
