SAN MATEO, Calif., Dec. 05, 2017 -- Arcadia Data, provider of the first native visual analytics software for big data is featured in the Startup50 Big 50-2017 report, an annual roundup of the top tech startups of the year. Arcadia Data earned the recognition for its unique, native visual analytics software, offering the scale, performance, and security necessary for real-time insights in the era of big data and internet of things (IoT).
Founded in 2013, Startup50 is dedicated exclusively to hot technology startups. The Startup50 recognition involves a system of rigorous competitions that strip away the spin and focuses on what really matters: real people and the real-world problems startups are struggling to overcome.
“The startups in this year’s Big50-2017 faced the most intense competition yet, fighting their way through new and more difficult challenges. This lineup is in a good position to follow in the footsteps of previous Big50 startups, many of whom have gone on to raise massive rounds of funding or have achieved successful exits, whether through IPOs or high-dollar acquisitions,” said Jeff Vance, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Startup50.
Arcadia Data passed through a series of tests in order to win this award. Arcadia Data was found to have raised sufficient funding, built a solid leadership team, and developed a strong business idea with a product that tackles a real-world problem. These attributes, combined with on-the-record customers and the ability to define and target a market, led to the inclusion of Arcadia Data on the initial list of startups.
To earn a spot in the Big 50 from the initial list of companies, startups completed a series of exhaustive questionnaires, built a following through online voting, and demonstrated viability through a series of tests and activities. In all, more than 160 startups applied to be considered for the Big 50-2017. The Final 50 are the determined few who fought their way through the entire gauntlet.
