Ariana Grande is a global superstar and a phenomenal singer with tons of chart-topping hits. Now, the American pop culture figure is looking to add video games to its list of industry involvement by becoming a character in a mobile game called Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. It’s a good bet that no one was expecting this kind of development, least of all fans of the franchise or the singer.
Grande made the announcement via her Instagram account on Sunday. Based on how the pop star worded her post, it seems she’s incredibly excited indeed.
“Pretty li’l thing holds her own in a room of men in suits. I'm SO so excited to finally share that I'll be featured in FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS,” the post reads.
This isn’t the first time that an American celebrity got involved in video games. In fact, Sean Bean and Aaron Paul were recently featured in one of Final Fantasy’s CG movies called Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive as main characters. As such, it’s not really much of a surprising turn of events for the singer to be involved in one of the titles of the legendary JRPG franchise.
In any case, Grande’s role in the game hasn’t been clarified just yet, Polygon reports. However, she did share a clip which provided some insight as to what players can expect in the upcoming mobile title. Based on the footage, it would seem that her character will be as a playable songstress with black, leather clothing and bunny ears.
As for the game itself, Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius will be a turn-based RPG that will be free to play on both iOS and Android devices. The game will feature many of the usual Final Fantasy tropes, including limit breaks and magic, but the characters are likely to be completely new.
