Washington serves as the housing monitor at the Salvation Army’s homeless shelter in Richmond. Recently, she made local headlines for delivering the child of a resident in the building’s lobby. Her service and dutifulness to her work and her family truly make Washington a “Great Mom” in the eyes of Armour, her coworkers, friends, and her three children.
Armour and Publix hosted an event at the Richmond Salvation Army to celebrate Washington with her family, friends, and fellow coworkers. To recognize her for being a “Great Mom” and community hero, Armour surprised her with a $2,500 gift card to Publix.
“Ms. Washington exemplifies the spirit of an Armour ‘Great Mom’,” said Mike Paribello, Smithfield Foods senior director of marketing. “She is a wonderful mother to her children and has shown tremendous support to her community. We are honored to celebrate and reward Ms. Washington with $2,500 in free groceries to Publix.”
“It means so much to have this recognition,” said Washington. “As moms, we doubt ourselves sometimes, so to be honored as a ‘Great Mom’ is really special.”
Armour has been making meals easier for everyday families with convenient ingredients and meal solutions for 150 years. The Armour “Great Moms” campaign is a national program designed to highlight and reward everyday great moms across the country for their extraordinary efforts in their communities and at home.
