The Gujral Community Fund was created with one particular goal in mind: Keeping families in San Francisco. As a long-time native of San Francisco, Ash Gujral is quite familiar with the wonderful opportunities this city provides to its citizens. On the other hand, he has seen first hand the many challenges that are facing families who live in San Francisco. Families with young children are often in need of basic support such as safe housing, adequate nutrition for their children and babies, and safe, clean outdoor spaces for children to play, learn and grow. For years now, The Gujral Community Fund has dedicated time and resources to help families so they can have a safe, clean and opportunistic place to call home in San Francisco. To that end, there have been a number of charitable partners who have been instrumental in promoting those shared goals with The Gujral Community Fund.
Charitable Partnerships
In 2019 alone, the Gujral Community Fund partnered with a number of quality charities and non profit organizations who have helped pursue the collective goals of the GCF. In addition, the GCF maintains ongoing charitable partnerships with some excellent local San Franciscan organizations such as the Pomeroy Recreation & Rehabilitation Center, a center dedicated to providing recreational, vocational and educational opportunities for people with disabilities through programs and services that encourage self-expression, promote personal achievement, and lead to greater independence. The GCF is also please to partner with New Story, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in San Francisco by engaging in innovative building methods to meet affordable housing demands. The GCF is also a regular contributor to St Jude's Children Research Hospital.
Major Donors
The Gujral Community Fund prides itself on remaining engaged and up to date on the needs of the San Franciscan community. As a result, they have strong relationships with some of the city's most prolific charity foundations, who provide donations and resources that directly impact San Franciscan's lives for the better each year. In recognition of their contributions to the community, The GCF would like to thank the following charitable partners:
-
John Burton Foundation
-
United Council of Human Services
-
Homeless Prenatal Program
When it comes to providing quality assistance and making a meaningful impact on people's lives for the better, these organizations have always gone the extra mile. That is why The GCF is always pleased to provide whatever financial assistance possible to make it easier for these organizations to expand their charitable networks. In 2019, The GCF was pleased to make a donation to the John Burton Foundation. This nonprofit foundation was created with the aim of reducing child homelessness in San Francisco, which everyone at the GCF believes is a vital cause when it comes to promoting health and prosperity among families and young people in the community.
The GCF also was pleased to provide a donation to the United Council of Human Services. This amazing organization offers shelter and support to the city's homeless and low-income families to help them get their lives on track. Through clean shelter, proper nutrition and mental and physical health support, the United Council of Human Services is one of San Francisco's most important resources for homeless people and struggling families. The GCF is always pleased to offer our support whenever we can.
Finally, in 2019, The Gujral Community Fund was able to provide assistance to the Homeless Prenatal Program of San Francisco, California. Our donation was made in order to promote this program, and help young families with babies get the support and information they need to ensure their babies thrive from an early age. It is organizations like these that truly demonstrate the shared values of promoting health and prosperity among San Franciscan families in order to keep them living and achieving all the opportunities offered by such a culturally diverse, open and accepting community.
