DALLAS, March 11, 2016 -- Associa employees and the Associa Supports Kids' mascot Scout spent the morning of March 2 visiting with and reading to students at Lakewood Elementary School as part of Dr. Seuss Day and Read Across America activities throughout Dallas ISD.
Along with Scout, Associa External Affairs Senior Vice President Andrew Fortin and team members Annette Ratliff and Natalie Ayers greeted the kids as they arrived and donated copies of Scout's puppy adventure books to the school as part of his annual book tour. Fortin then joined other volunteers to read Dr. Seuss classics with the students.
"We realize the importance of supporting our community and what better way to do that than with our lovable mascot who helps the kids get excited about reading," says Fortin. "Scout was the star of the show, but I truly valued the time spent reading together with Ms. Leal and her first graders."
