BTS completed their Japanese tour last month as part of their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” world tour. Now it was revealed that the South Korean boy band earned around US$20.3 million for performances in the said country alone.
According to Billboard Boxscore, BTS sold 107,153 tickets for their shows, but It was not specified how many performances they staged in Japan. With this result, it was reported that the group had been listed as the highest-grossing act for July and they bested several music superstars such as Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, and Shawn Mendes.

Overall, BTS’ “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” world tour grossed a total of $99.3 million for as of today. The band still have concert four dates scheduled in October, so apparently, this figure will still be higher in the coming months. Their Rose Bowl featuring gig in May was said to have brought in $16.6 million by selling a total of 113,040 tickets, and this contributed to the total earnings as of July.
Aside from earning from concert tickets, it was mentioned that BTS’ profits from their concerts also came from viewing pass on V Live app that live-streamed the boy group’s London concert that was held at the Wembley Stadium on June 1. It was said that the passes were sold for $28 each.
BTS on break
With their hectic schedule that consists of concerts, album production and launch, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Suga, V, and Jungkook were given time to recharge by their company, Big Hit Entertainment. BTS will be on a 2-month break that already began last month. It was a very successful year for the members, so they are resting to come back with more energy for their future promotions.
Anti-bullying campaign
BTS teamed up with UNICEF to raise awareness on bullying. The band filmed a video for the organization’s anti-bullying campaign and it was reportedly done beautifully. With the video campaign, the hashtag and project name, #ENDviolence, was used to promote the end of student violence and bullying in schools via social media.
