BTS is releasing its new album called “Map of the Soul: 7” on Feb. 21 and as part of the album launch, the group scheduled a preview for their new track titled “On.” It was revealed that fans would be able to get a glimpse of this song via TikTok.
BTS and TikTok
As per Allkpop, BTS will introduce their song on the said platform by posting a 30-second video at exactly 6 a.m. KST. It will be uploaded on the morning of the scheduled album release that will take place at 6 p.m. on Feb. 21.
“On” has been chosen to be “Map of the Soul: 7” title track, so it is expected to be a hit. Commenting on the exclusive preview of the BTS track on TikTok, a representative of the said video-sharing social networking service said, "TikTok's unique promotional method which allows artists and consumers to communicate while promoting their content to one another, breaking away from the typical methods of promotion, is currently creating a hot sensation."
BTS to make history on TikTok
Forbes reported that with the preview of BTS’ “On” track on TikTok, the South Korean boy band is set to make history because they will be the first artists who will introduce a song using the popular video app. Typically, musicians and artists preview their singles via YouTube or music sites, but the septet composed of RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga chose TikTok instead. Plus, it is uncommon for artists to reveal one or two songs ahead of an album launch, so this is a first.
The “Map of the Soul: 7” will offer more than 10 tracklists, and “Black Swan” was already revealed previously. BTS also performed the whole choreography for this track on an American show, so fans already have an idea with regards to the concept of their newest album.
World tour schedule
Meanwhile, BTS will be embarking on another world tour this year. After “Map of the Soul: 7” is released this week, the group will be preparing for their performances that will begin in April. It will kickstart in Seoul for a 4-day performance and followed by stops in North America, U.K., Japan, and major cities in the U.S.
