“Better Call Saul” season 6 is already confirmed and by now, everyone already knows that this is the last of the series. It will wrap up with the final 13 episodes instead of the usual 10 to give the story a clean finish and leave with all the viewers’ questions answered.
Renewed finale
While AMC has not given a new update about “Better Call Saul” season 6’s renewal, it is sure to return because the notice was already given earlier in January. It was mentioned prior to the release of season 5 since the sixth season is the last already.
Co-creator Peter Gould said that the writing team spent five years creating the characters and giving them personalities to fit in the plot of “Better Call Saul.” With that, they were able to introduce Jimmy McGill, Kim Wexler, Nacho, Gus Fring and more. Now they are at the end and the story will soon reach the climax soon.
On renewing the show, AMC Networks Entertainment Group president Sarah Barnett said that it is always a good decision. Jeff Frost, the president of Sony Pictures Television, added that they are sad that the drama is ending but at the same time they are also excited as to how Gould and Vince Gilligan will conclude the story.
“Greenlighting a prequel to one of the most iconic series in television history is one of the boldest swings that AMC has ever taken,” Barnett said in a statement. “But, thanks to the creative genius of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, it has also been one of the most rewarding.”
Season 6 spoilers
“Better Call Saul” season 6 will is expected to pick up from where the season 5 finale left off. This is around the time when Jimmy got in trouble for collecting the bail money for Lalo. Kim also suggested a scheme to take down Howard Hamlin, her former boss and it seems that Jimmy is reluctant to with the plan.
It was hinted that there will be a big twist in “Better Call Saul” season 6 as Jimmy appeared to be weak and frightened which is far from the Saul Goodman character who he was supposed to have become. Rather than Jimmy, the one turning crook is his wife Kim Wexler.
This is a big twist because, since the beginning, it was made to appear that Kim was trying to stop her now-husband from going back to his old bad ways. But the events are suggesting that their role was reversed as she is becoming stronger and driven to roast Howard.
“You have to start with the fact that Jimmy is in a vulnerable place. He’s in a weak, uncertain and frightened place inside,” Bob Odenkirk told Deadline when asked about Kim’s goal of taking down Howard. “He just came out of the desert, just came out of this PTSD-lingering terror inside him then she (Kim) goes off on this tear where she’s imagining doing difficult nasty things to Howard, who has been Jimmy’s enemy.”
“Better Call Saul” season 6 has no release date yet since filming has yet to commence. It was initially scheduled to arrive in 2021 but this could be delayed as most of the dramas and films have stopped their shoots for the safety of the actors and crew following the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. and the whole world.
