Bill Gates recently discussed his favorite feature in ChatGPT—its meeting summaries—while cautioning about the broader threat AI could pose, particularly in spreading disinformation and its impact on society.

Gates’ Go-To ChatGPT Feature

In an interview with The Verge, Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, said what and how he utilizes artificial intelligence the most.

When asked about his favorite resource for learning new things, he mentioned ChatGPT, calling it "an excellent way to get explanations for specific questions." Bill Gates has stated that the AI technology has been extremely helpful for him in his writing endeavors.

Meeting Summaries Are Gates’ Favorite Feature

Talking about ChatGPT summaries, he said, “I’d say the feature I use the most is the meeting summary, which is integrated into [Microsoft] Teams, which I use a lot. The ability to interact and not just get the summary, but ask questions about the meeting, is pretty fantastic."

Bill Gates expressed optimism about the potential applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and education, saying, "It is wonderful to see how AI has been a big help for teachers do their jobs and help students," as reported by Hindustan Times. "So, for the next decade, we’ll be experiencing increased productivity in a lot of areas, which is overwhelmingly very good news.," he stated.

Disinformation Is a Key Concern for Gates

Also sounding the alarm about the dangers of disinformation, Bill Gates stated, "where I do think the younger generation is going to have to look at the tradeoffs between free speech and misinforming people."

In a previous statement, Bill Gates also lauded AI, saying, “The development of AI is as fundamental as the creation of the microprocessor, the personal computer, the Internet, and the mobile phone. It will change the way people work, learn, travel, get health care, and communicate with each other. Entire industries will reorient around it. Businesses will distinguish themselves by how well they use it.”
