It was recently confirmed by Netflix that “Black Mirror” Season 5 will be premiering in 2019, which is contrary to what many fans were expecting. Instead of getting the fifth season of the hit series this year, viewers got “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” and it is proving to be quite the buzzworthy addition. As for what fans can expect from season 5, it would seem that one confirmed detail is that Miley Cyrus will be starring in one episode.
In a recent Tweet, BuzzFeed TV editor Scott Bryan revealed how Netflix has provided him with some truly juicy details about “Black Mirror” Season 5. He also reiterated how “Bandersnatch” is not part of the fifth season’s anthology but rather, its own separate property.
“Netflix has told me that the fifth season of Black Mirror is still to come in 2019. Bandersnatch was not the fifth season, but a standalone interactive film, in case you were wondering,” the Tweet reads.

For the most part, the streaming company has been keeping a tight lid on the details with regards to what “Black Mirror” Season 5 holds for fans. This is for the best since one of the charms of the show is how it consistently surprises viewers as to the fate of its characters. However, one of the biggest developments with regards to the upcoming season is the announcement that Miley Cyrus will be involved.
The pop star has been involved in a lot of TV and movie projects before, so she is no stranger to acting. However, most of the projects she had done had featured upbeat and lighthearted tones. This is why her involvement in “Black Mirror” Season 5 is going to be quite the interesting turn of events. How will she be made to suffer when the show drops in 2019?
