The fate of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon is still unknown after Marvel Cinematic Universe established him as Captain America’s (Chris Evans) successor by the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” But what’s certain for the actor at this point is he is one of the biggest stars joining “Black Mirror” season 5.
Entertainment Weekly revealed the first-look on Mackie’s still-mysterious role in “Black Mirror” season 5. The actor is seen in a seemingly tensed scene against Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is popular for his role in DC Universe’s Aquaman.
The way they stare at each other appears they are preparing to fight in a dark alley on a rainy night. But the factors that brought them to this situation is still under wraps just like other plot details of “Black Mirror” season 5.

Netflix and showrunner Charlie Brooker have been tight-lipped about the release date window and spoiling any storylines of “Black Mirror” season 5. But with the unveiling of the teaser photo including major cast members, it might be a sign that the announcement of a premiere date will follow soon. This might also add to the possible clues that the series will return with new episodes in 2019.
“Black Mirror” season 5 was initially anticipated to be released in 2018. Though it did not happen, the premiere of the film “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” definitely made up for it. The sci-fi movie became the first interactive contents on Netflix. As the viewers watch the film, certain scenes will require them to choose on behalf of the characters. It ultimately affects how the movie ends based on the answers provided.
Since Netflix acquired rights in producing the series, it had a new installment each year. So it increases the chance that “Black Mirror” season 5 will be released in 2019. Considering the show’s release dates since 2016, the upcoming season might premiere within the last quarter of the year.
