“Blue Bloods” season 9 is confirmed to air for another action-packed, crime-busting installment. There will be lots of changes in the upcoming episodes and mostly, they will be about the Reagan family. For details ahead of the premiere, below are bits of info to know.
Storyline for the ninth season
When “Blue Bloods” season 9 premieres, it will begin with Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and Edit “Eddie” Janko’s (Vanessa Ray) engagement. Everything is going fine until the engaged couple insists on working together as partners. It is an issue because Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is against the idea.
The Reagan patriarch believes that a couple should not be riding the police car together to solve a crime. This setup will also put them in danger because it cannot be helped that emotions will also be involved when they work.
Plus, he does not want Jamie to be the first cop in NYPD history to work as a team with his fiancée. In short, Frank does not want work and family to get mixed up.
"Most cops would say it could affect one’s judgment. Frank wants his son to be happy, and yet he’s got this hyperactive sense of responsibility. He already lost one son in the line of duty." Selleck explained, via TV Insider.
Jamie and Eddie’s engagement made fans very happy at the end of “Blue Bloods” season 8 and this is because they have waited for so long for this to happen. The two like each other but it was only last season when they finally admitted their feelings for one another.
Cast
Fans are likely to see the whole cast in “Blue Bloods” season 9. To spice things up a bit, there will be character guesting in the police drama and fans are hoping that one of them would be Bebe Neuwirth.
They were delighted when she made a brief reappearance in season 8’s “Risk Management” episode and fans saw her very good chemistry with Frank Reagan. Now, they would like her to appear once more. CBS may seriously consider this to give back to the viewers who have been continuously supporting the show.
@BebeNeuwirth so glad to see you returning to #BlueBloods I was sad to see you go last time
