BoE to hike rates in Q4 2015

The July MPC minutes from the Bank of England are expected to focus on the degree of slack in the UK economy and the strengthening of the GBP.

The MPC members probably voted unanimously (9-0) at their July meeting.

However, still it is believed that the two hawks Weale and McCafferty could soon vote for a rate hike given the strengthening of the labour market and rising wages.

"The BoE will hike rates in Q4 this year, slightly earlier than the market's pricing of a first rate hike in Q1 2016", says Nordea Bank.
